Junior Network Project Manager

Role: Junior Network Project Management

Key Essential Skills

Infrastructure Delivery, WAN/LAN, VPN, Switches, TCP/IP, Cisco and Juniper Networking, MS Project, MS Office Suite, Workfront, ServiceNow, you must have 18-24 months network LAN/WAN experience and a desire to transition into project management

You must have excellent written, oral, instructional, presentation and interpersonal skills focused on motivation and positive attitude.

Salary

£20,000 to £30,000 annually.

Outline of Role

A fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly growing team focussed on delivering high-level services around data centres, LAN/WAN with network essentials experience required to define, document and manage small to medium scale implementation projects with minimal supervision, working with multiple teams that may have differing priorities and working/cultural practices. You will be responsible for preparing, maintaining project plans and track activities against the plan. Implement effective communication plans and operating rhythms, including provision of regular and accurate reports. Working in our Milton Keynes office to offer a global service “eyes on glass”.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder management
  • Coordinate activities (technical and non technical) with network teams from High Level Design to implementation to operational assurance.
  • Liaise with 3rd party vendors to ensure project deliverables and timescales are agreed.
  • Liaise with Commercial and Business Operations to ensure efficiency around the commercial governance framework.
  • Liaise with BCO to ensure accuracy of hardware ordering and deliverability.
  • Experience of co-location space diversity in terms of Network and Mechanical and Electrical, Telecommunications, Data infrastructure and Financial Data Networks include the carrier access networks
  • Drive deliverables and dates with respective teams and their dependencies.
  • Manage multiple deployments and priorities

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of strategic and prioritized ENT LAN projects & programs through the assigned PMs
  • Full accountability for program/project: maintaining schedules; completion of deliverables; and accuracy of financials
  • Partner with the Proposition Owner for identifying & prioritizing the road-map projects that align to the business needs and objectives
  • Allocation of projects to PMs through the IDM resource managers
  • Tracking, managing and reporting of project budgets and implementing effective cost-control while looking for opportunities for cost-savings
  • Resource-planning for PMs and other supporting ENT functions to have adequate staff for delivering committed to projects
  • Managing escalations and help resolve issues/road-blocks
  • Ensure accurate reporting of the status of all projects within the portfolio to the ENT Senior Management
  • Ensuring that all projects are being run in accordance with the groups best practice and tools.
  • Working within a matrix organization to ensure the progress of the portfolio of projects; develop collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Effective assessment and monitoring of risks/issues and blockers and ensuring that appropriate plans are in place to address them

Essential experience:

  • Proven experience in a Portfolio or Program Manager role
  • 7+ years’ experience as a Technology Project Manager role, including Data Center infrastructure deployments
  • Track record of delivering IT infrastructure projects within a technically complex and dynamic environment, specifically that required to support multiple business projects
  • Experience of successfully engaging management and groups of technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong knowledge of Infrastructure Programme Management, e.g. Managing Successful Programmes (MSP), Prince2 and agile project management tools and methodologies.
  • Familiarity LAN technologies like switching, routing, Loadbalancers, Proxies, DNS, monitoring tools, etc.
  • Familiarity with Network products – Cisco, F5, Gigamon, SevOne, Infoblox, Gigastor, etc.
